Relay API Integration Console
A custom API operations console concept for mapping endpoints, payloads, and sync health across internal systems.
- TypeScript
- REST/JSON
- Observability UI
- Webhook model
Overview
Relay Console explores how integration teams can inspect mappings, retries, and payload shapes without exposing secrets in the browser.
Problem / Design Challenge
Integration dashboards often leak complexity or credentials into the UI. The challenge was to show operational clarity safely.
Proposed Solution & Architecture
Proposed architecture separates public status views from secret material, uses redacted token displays, and models retries as operator actions requiring server authority.
Assumptions (conceptual work)
- Endpoint credentials would live in environment configuration, not the UI
Key Features
- Endpoint map with environment badges
- Redacted credential placeholders
- Request/response inspector layout
- Retry queue concept with empty states
Engineering Decisions & Trade-offs
- Never render real API secrets in client bundles
- Used illustrative payloads clearly marked as samples
- Designed webhook verification hooks as future server work
Testing & Verification Notes
No third-party APIs were called for this portfolio record. Screens and payloads are static demonstration content.
Lessons Learned
- Redaction and environment labeling prevent costly mistakes
- Integration UIs should make failure modes obvious
Next Steps
- Attach to verified staging APIs behind server-side auth
- Add signature verification for inbound webhooks when implemented
